It is hot, really hot… So please popsicles, loads of popsicles and ice creams! A real summer always comes with summery classics full of color and freshness.
The kind of summer we dream about all year long and we desire as little kids to arrive soon so we can gorge ourselves on popsicles and ice creams to cool us down in the hottest days. Or not so hot days, it doesn’t matter, a popsicle is always welcome, it quenches yourself right away and will draw a smile on your face.
So much better if it is a homemade and natural popsicle, made with fresh fruit, no preservatives nor artificial colorants or other junk the ones we buy normally have. Making your own popsicles is the easiest thing!
There are plenty of combinations, you just need some molds, the flavours of your choice…and ready to go!
It can also be a funny thing to do with kids, they love it and enjoy a lot! You can try making them with different colours and flavours…
Enjoy using summery fruits, there are so many and so delicious… Now it is cherry season I took the occasion to use them mixed with the subtle white tea, and the roses that give a special scent. A healthy, natural and light popsicle that reminds drinking an iced tea…
Let’s go with the recipe for these cherry, roses and white tea popsicles!
INGREDIENTS:
- 40-50 ripe cherries, pitted
- 2 tbsp. agave syrup
- 1 tbsp. rose syrup (concentrated)
- White tea, bags or leaves
- Water
YOU NEED:
- Popsicle molds
- Wood or plastic sticks
ELABORATION:
- We make the white tea in advance to allow some to time cool. Calculate the water you need filling the molds. Use that water to prepare the white tea, add the agave syrup, stir and allow to cool. Use 2 tea bags or 2-3 tbsp of tea leaves.
- Crush the cherries with a food processor or blender. Add the white tea and rose extract, mix and blend all well. You can strain it if there are big chunks.
- Taste and if needed add more agave syrup and/or rose extract to your taste.
- Pour the mix into the molds and place in the freezer.
- After 30-40 minutes, check if they have started to harden and insert a stick in each popsicle.
- Leave in the freezer for at least 2 or 3 hours or until they are totally frozen.
- To unmold submerge them in warm water for a few seconds, they will release easily.
