HANDMADE FESTIVAL IN BARCELONA

HANDMADE FESTIVAL IN BARCELONA

On today’s post I’ll be sharing my experience at the Handmade Festival that annually take place in Barcelona at the Fira exhibitions centre. An event dedicated to the DIY with a varied and amusing programme.

The exhibitions hall had different sections: Paper, Sewing, deco&garden, wedding, Mini (for kids) and Meet&Sweet. Additionally there was an outdoor area for having lunch or something to drink; a wide range of food trucks whith burgers, sandwiches, vegan dishes, crêpes, gin and tonics, wines and more… so you can join the “street food experience” that is now so trendy.

Once inside you could find multiple stands where to buy material for all kind of DIYhandicrafts, city gardenscake design…or just get some inspiration and ideas for your upcoming projects. You could also take part of different craft and decor workshops.

Watch innovative kitchenware demonstrations…

 And attend several cooking workshops

Such as this one where they showed us how to make a brownie with hazelnuts…

A little lunch break… As I mentioned before there was an open area outside with a good variety of food trucks. A pleasant area with music courtesy of the swing  band Doc Scanlon Trio, since there was a little stage where different concerts where played (rock, swing, Madonna and Elvis tributes…) over the festival.

I tried this burger from the Gala food truck: beef meat, goat cheese, caramelized onions and mustard and honey mayonnaise, very good.

Genuine “creperies” like this one… where it was really tough to avoid the smell and not be tempted…

Inside there was also the Meet&Sweet section where you could taste different desserts and sweet treats, a perfect spot for a coffee break…

In short, a great day full of inspiration, an enjoyable experience where I will go back for sure!
