Today I'm launching a blog's brand new section "Restaurants" dedicated to restaurants and places to eat where I'll be writing articles about different places and countries where to eat yummy, original, peculiar and different.
Those who are planning to travel to the wonderful portuguese capital Lisbon might be interested in this post. It is not just about one restaurant, it is "Mercado da Ribeira" now also called "Time Out Mercado da Ribeira". This place has a classic market with fruits, vegetables and fish among other fresh products as well as flower shops, gourmet products, typical crafts and of course what this article is about: restaurants. A very nice spot with a different concept where you will find a wide and attractive culinary offer.
An extensive and open area with bar tables in the middle where a good option is to order a few "tapas" so you can try out different dishes. You will find fusion cuisine, portuguese typical dishes, asian food, gourmet burguers... even seafood and delicious desserts.
Every restaurant gives you a wireless "beeper/locator" when you make your order so you can have a look around or just relax drinking something while wou wait until it beeps and you can collect your food.
Natural fresh oysters to start...
Followed by an octopus salad with vinaigrette and pickles...
Going on with a distinct and surprising herring tartar with beetroot, radishes and green apple. For the tartar lovers like me, Tartar-ia is more than recomendable since they offer various types of fish as well as meat and even vegetarian options.
At Honorato's you will find a wide range of yummy homemade burguers, like the "Xtudo" that as its name indicates has a bit of everything: tomato, bacon, cheese, a fried egg...
Something sweet at the end is a must and it is worth to save some room in your stomach to try a dessert from Nós é mais bolos. The hard part is having to pick one between their display of tarts, cakes and other options... it becomes impossible not to be tempted.
My choice was the chocolate mousse, simply amazing... of course together with a typical "bica" (espresso coffee) to finalize following the portuguese tradition .
